The Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team worked closely every day with West Valley SAR when Eric was missing for five days. 

On the last night of the search, three of their team members decided it was best to prepare to camp overnight so they could get deep enough in the canyon to more thoroughly search.  It was that night they found footprints in the snow and were able to communicate their location to those at the command center.  A helicopter rescue was conducted shortly thereafter. 

This team will always have a special place in our heart.  Our family remains complete and there is not enough thanks in the world for that, but we will do our best to pay forward the generosity and kindness shown to us by all 16 teams that aided in Eric’s rescue.
